Padre Joaquim Ribeiro da Costa (? - ?) was probably one of the musicians protected by the 15th Conde de Redondo, D. José Luis de Sousa Coutinho, in the aftermath of the Liberal Wars. He dedicated his Matinas ‘para se cantarem no officio do Patrocinio de S. Joseph’ (P-Ln, F.C.R. 60//4), which are inscribed ‘Cartaxo 13 de Março de 1852’, to the count. A Joaquim Ribeiro da Costa, resident of Cartaxo, was a recipient of a medal from D. Miguel in 1829 (Gazeta de Lisboa, no. 193, Monday 17 August 1829).
